The Andie Sling Bag is a mini crossbody bag with a stylish asymmetrical zippered front pocket. This is an intermediate level sewing project that involves practicing the following: sewing around curves, easing a gusset and installing zippers.

Bag Features:

• Zip top closure for keeping contents secure
• Sliding d-ring so you can switch shoulders without unhooking the strap
• 1 exterior zippered pocket
• 1 interior card size slip pocket
• Adjustable crossbody strap
• Dimensions: 5-1/4” wide x 7-1/4” tall x 1-3/4” deep

Skill Level: Intermediate. Prior bag making experience is recommended - it is helpful to have experience installing zippers and sewing around curves.

This bag uses the drop-in method of attaching the lining. This means there is NO seam binding. This bag can be finished by hand or machine. Instructions for both options are included. If you would like to see a video of how this bag is finished, please check out my YouTube channel.

Supplies Needed to Make Your Own Andie Bag:

• Exterior Fabric (44” wide): 1/4 yard or 1 fat quarter
• Lining Fabric (44” wide): 1/4 yard
• Fusible Woven Interfacing (Pellon SF101 or similar - 20” wide): 3/8 yard
• 1" Wide Cotton Webbing: 1-3/4 yards
• 12” Handbag Zipper (1-1/4” zipper tape width) - 1
• 8” Handbag Zipper (1-1/4 zipper tape width) - 1
• 1” Wide D-Rings: 1
• 1” Wide Rectangle Strap Slider: 1
• 1” Wide Swivel Hooks: 1
• 1/4" Wide Basting Tape (Wonder Tape) if finishing by machine: 22 inches

Other Notions + Tools: Fabric pen or chalk, ruler, thread, zipper foot, iron, sewing machine, denim or Microtex needle. For basting the drop-in lining: Wonder Tape, hand sewing needle or fabric glue.

Suggested Fabrics: Canvas, denim or similar for the exterior (7-10 oz.). Quilting weight cotton for the lining.
